I know this is probally an amature question but I was wanting to add a Powder Blue Tang to my tank that already has a Yellow and a Regal Tang. Will there be any problems with this?

Yellow tang was the first in the tank and when I added the Regal, he wasn't too happy with that. After a few weeks they coexist pretty well together.

How would a Powder Blue be in there?

Its just a little 55 but thats all thats going to be in there. Would the power blue do the same if it where smaller then the yellow and regal?

PBTs are very ich-prone fish and very picky. Putting a 3rd tang (especially a PBT) in a 55 g tank would be very irresponsible.

Thats all that you needed to say! I fought ick for about 2months with the regal. Really dont want to have to do that all over with again.

hmm... what other fish would look nice?

If you don't want to get a headache looking at your 55, I wouldn't put a PBT.

When I first started off tank, my brother decided to get a PBT which he added to his 55 gal. Then he put it in my 80 gal. It just kept on swimming back and forth where I kept shaking my head no to keep up with the fish. Eventually, I got a headached.

I am for adding as many tangs into a tank but not a PBT in a 55 gal.

Sad to say, but less fish and more corals equals a healthier tank. You could do what I did. Load up on inverts. I have five clams, six or seven shrimp, loads of frags, corals, anemone, zoas and only five fish. Of course, one's a blue tang that will eventually have to find a new home when he reaches adult length. I have a 120 w/ 40gal sump. BTW, don't get a wrasse unless you have a cover on your tank.
