Possible system builds

I plan on upgrading my tank in the not so distant future. I am wanting to get a 200+ gallon tank. I will probably have a 100 G refugium/sump. What i am wanting is some ideas about plumbing. My tank will be RR. Should i get 3 holes drilled or just 2? The reason I ask is because I recently learned about the benefits of Closed Loop Systems improving flow in tank. If anyone has a good diagram or something of the sort that would help tremendously!I have tried to post what my tank looks like right now but can't seem to get it. Any suggestions would be helpful

Check out the build threads over at Ocean Motions. They are the creator of the OM Squirt which are pretty much made for Closed Loops. Lots of good pictures and ideas over there.

Kind of depends on what kind of drain system your going to use and whether you plan any of your returns to come back up through your overflow. For example, I plan to use the type of drain system described in this RC thread....

which requires 3 holes. In addition, if you want to bring one or two returns up through the overflow, you'll have to add those holes as well. My closed loop will not be used with my overflow. My intakes and returns will all be plumbed through the wall of my tank or over the sides. Hope that makes sense.

Here's a picture of my CL:

Each side has 2 outlets. My tank is a 40 bdr. The CL pump pushes 1100GPH.

The intake is 1.5" and reduced to 1" just after the strainer to reduce suction on fishies etc. Each outlet is 3/4".
