Polyps never opened - What to do or check

[We's picked up some Purple stemmed brown Polyps about 2 weeks back and since they've been in the tank, they will not open. we've checked the levels of Ammo, Nitrites, Nitrates, Phos, Chloramines, and even salinity. Everything is where it should be. the Polyps are in a moderate flow area and relatively high in the tank. the lighting is 2x96W PC's, 1-10K 1-actinic running on a 12 hour cycle. the water temp floats between 77.2 and 78.7. they still retain their purple stem color but we're running out of ideas. we even have a brown zoo that was a hitchhiker that survived the nitrate cycle.
the other aspects are: 4 queen conchs, 4 large snails, a pair of smaller Obsoleta's. We've removed the sand sifter stars and have 1 velvet damsel and a pair of purple striped dottybacks. We even have a whole tank of copapods and (amphi or iso)-pods. I don't know what else to check. The polyps were added before we got the fish (by 4 days) and were added at the same time we added a Xenia. The xenia was caught and removed just prior to meltdown with care given to contain and toxins. They were both acclimated via the drip method.]

[I had some pink polyps that were stresses out bigtime when i got them. They took almost a month to relax and come out.
If they are not going away, they will eventually open up for you.]

[I'm with Kevin...I've had zoos that took a couple of weeks for them to open all of their polyps. As long as they are not starting to shrivel up I would just let them be.]
