Plumbing Question

Ok, I have been researching ways to plumb my sump and have noticed that there are tons of variations. ( I feel like I am running around in circles [smilie=rofl.gif] ) I plan to start plumbing the system in the next few days but had a couple of questions.

First the equipment:

36x18x24 Rimless 65 gallon with center overflow ( two 1" holes)
Triggers systems CRY30S 30x12x15 sump/refugium ( drain/refugium/return)
Reef Octupus NWB-110 skimmer
Mag 7 return pump

The idea is to keep it simple. I am planning on putting a uinion and a ball valve on both the return and the drain.

1. Should I hard pipe or use spa flex?
2. Is it ok to run both drain and the return 1" (same size)?
3. Is there anything else I should plan ahead for? (media reactor, etc..)

Any feed back would be helpful...

Thanks,
David

Since the bulkheads are 1" each, yes you can use 1" drain line and 1" return line.

If you wanted to run a manifold for additional reactors, you should plan that before you start cutting and gluing -- which saves you money by avoiding mistakes and do-overs.

I like to use a mixture of spaflex and rigid depending where I need the parts. Here's the plumbing tutorial I typed up about a year ago, including how I used this particular project for my saltwater mixing tank. http://www.reefaddicts.com/content.php/283-Plumbing-Primer-how-to-do-it-correctly
