Plumbing complete with changes comming on new 115 DAS RR

Thanks to all for posting the pics of the foam background and plumbing examples. I'm back into the hobby after 7 years when I sold my last 55 gal Reef tank when I had my current house built and moved into it wanting a larger tank. Well I just completed phase 1 of many plumbing layouts for my DAS refugium system. Also, the foam background was fun quick and easy. Purchased the Foam from Whiz Q Stone for $20 for 16oz (not cheap) took three cans to complete the 4' x 2' wall with 1 overflow box. I actually spray into the sections of egg crate out of the tank on sheets of wax paper before I installed into the tank. Had to cut the back wall in half because it was too long to slide into the tank because of the glass supports on top of the tank. For my plumbing, I split the drain to run half to run through the refugium algae box and the other half into the return section. I did that to avoid to fast of a water flow through the algae section. Looks like this was a good idea for me because I think I am going to run the protein skimmer return through that section also because there is too many micro bubbles instead of where its at small lower pass through before the return section. I drill and installed the pumps (Quiet One pump) 1017 gph return and 296 gph to the DAS protein skimmer.
Thanks
Henry

Howdy and welcome back!

That foam's gonna look really interesting coated in coraline! Can't wait to see how it progresses...

I'm considering routing the pipes to the pumps into a isolated 2 gallon tank to submerge the pumps. The two pumps are by Quiet One the 4000 and the 2000. Any sugeestions would be greatly appretiated.

Up to 30lbs of Marshall Island LR 5 damsels 3 have died  . Cycle has kicked into gear diatoms showing up, so I added an extra pump until I finish the famous Closed Loop Circulation System. Going to add another 100lbs of marshall in a couple of weeks after I cook it.

he continued updates in a seperate thread...
