A nice solution to those plugs that are difficult to insert or tug out:

For the past few months, I've been meaning to find something useful at Home Depot that would allow me to unplug or plug in some cords more easily. Last Saturday, I went up with with that mission in mind, and the department was manned with someone that didn't know electrical unfortunately. I asked about di-electric grease, thinking that would be the remedy, but he couldn't find it and didn't know what it was.

Yesterday, I ran into the guy that knows his stuff and he told me that he would use the exact product I was looking for, but they didn't carry it. So he suggested I give this stuff a try instead, and let him know. It was less than $2.50 for the spray can, so I bought it. It works like a dream. I just sprayed the prongs of the offending plug, blotted off any drops and plugged it in a couple of times. The outlet is much easier to use now. I didn't wipe it off the metal prongs because I wanted some of the product to rub against the contacts in the wall outlet. No sparks, no excitement, just the simply joy of being able to plug something in once again.

Good find Marc. I've never heard of that type of product before. Thanks.

BTW- Is that a Smurf in the background?
