Please help! Pink Skunk Clown is dying!

I have a pair of pink skunk clowns that I got from a lfs. they each spotted up with a small bout of ich. The ich would come and go for about a week and a half. A week after it cleared up the last time, I noticed the smaller of the two fish was breathing rapidly and had a red area(spot) on his anus. His poo was white, and he wasn't eating. So, I assumed it was an internal bacteria infection. He has been quarantined.

I started dosing with maracyn-2. Since I started dosing, on sunday, the red spot has cleared up today. But, he still isn't eating and his tail has almost completely disintigrated. The tail was completely perfect on Sunday when we started dosing.

I don't know what to do. I don't think he will make it if his tail disappears anymore. Or, if he doesn't start eating. Do you have any suggestions? I really want this guy to live, I just don't know what to do. I need to stop his tail from disentigrating and get him to eat.

I am about to do a small water change Thank you so much for any help. I really want him to live.

Some really sharp preople out there and I'm sure one can help.

I think it is too late. He is still alive, but he can't right himself. His tail is completely gone. All other fins are in perfect shape. he is just being blown around the tank by circulation. I am going to turn off the powerhead. see if it makes a difference. I am wondering if I should just put him out of his misery. This stinks!

Don't turn off you powerhead..... Fish need flow don't make things worse. We have all have had a fish die at some point, so keep your hopes up and maybe the little guy will pull through.

I didn't turn off the powerhead, because of the reasons blide stated. I just went to check him again and he was shaking bad. then he stopped breathing. Probably too much stress from not being able to swim correctly because of the loss of his tail. I think the Maracyn 2 had to of done something to his tail. His tail wet from perfect to nothing in less than 2 days. And it started coming off after we started treatment. I doubt I will use that form of treatment again.

Also, info on the net seems to be misleading. White poo is supposed to be a sign of an internal bacterial infection. Amanda told me it was more than likely an internal parasite. I wish their was a way to post pictures of diseases our fish get and treatments used, those that worked and those that did not. That way we could find an easier reference for our fish problems. That way it would be easier to diagnose. I still haven't found a single picture of what my fish had. I should have taken some myself. I definitely will next time.

I don't want to be a total downer. Since being alone, the other clown has taken to hosting in my xenia. You can see it in the pic below. That brings a smile to my face. :D

Chuck, that is a great idea. If you and others can start gathering up information, we can create an online library of facts. It could be webpages or separate threads in the Fish Disease forum.
