Please help identify

1st one - definetly a rock anemone. Most folks think it's a bad thing.

2nd one - sponge. I have the same thing growing in my 'fuge, and I've seen it in many others. You might want to pull it off - try to get it all so you do not have to do so again - it might get caught in your hammer and "strangle" the polyps. If you want to keep the sponge, put it somewhere else :D

Flower or Rock Anemones are okay. They do eat what they can catch, and they grow to a maximum 5" in diameter. I have a big on in my tank and everyone asks me "how's that elegance doing?"

The sponge is fine too. Odds are some fish will chew on it, or you can pluck it out if it gets ugly.

I have a rock anemone exactly like the one in your tank. It is around 5 inches across, and has never caused any problems. I actually have grown to love it.

Thanks ... I'll hang onto the RFA.

Carrie--if I run across another one or this one splits I'll let you know.
