Pistol Shrimp pairing

I bought a randalls/candy cane pistol (Alpheus randalli) and a yellow watchman.

They are both from the indo pacific, but I was searching for information earlier and i've seen twice where it's been said that yellow watchman goby are not likely to pair with the candy cane? Anyone know if this is true?
 
Yellow watchmen are kinda weird they are about 50/50 with pairing. I have seen them pair up with tiger pistols. If you have a large tank, it will just take time for them to find each other.
 
I just looked in there and he was poking out of one of the holes with the pistol.. was figuring it would take time for them to pair up 8)
