Phosphate Reducing Media?

Matt,
I have been running that for about 4 months and will give it rave reviews. I converted from old DAS hair algae/byopsis farm and initially started with very high phosphates. I now have no hair algae and LR is starting to look much better after a 12 year algae growth and I attribute it to the Pura and the sump/fuge addition. My phosphates currently are 0 :!:

I used it in a filter bag for a couple of months. I've been a lazy bum when it comes to my tank lately, so I never checked the phosphates and don't know if it reduced them..if they was any to begin with..LOL!

I all about using quality stuff in my tank, but when it comes to the same exact stuff repackaged by different vendors. I use the cheapest.

Oh I have a container of the stuff I bought from Fish Paradise about 3 months back. I bought some rock with hair algae on it, and it got worse, and worse, and worse. I bought some and a test, and turns out my phospate was at .5. So I didn't use it and it's still here. I do plan to run it on the 70g just for good measure though. I thought there was supposed to be phospates in tap water  .

I've used it. To be honest, it didn't last as long as other similar products, and the packaging indicated I'd have more than enough for a long time.

I documented the various products on this page: http://www.melevsreef.com/chemicals.html

Warner Marine just came out with some new phosphate remover that looks like hamster pellet food, but I don't know if anyone in our area has tried it yet.

I ordered some of the Drs foster and smith stuff for the new tank. I originally used Rowa, then switched to Phosban because it's a little cheaper and now this so we'll see. Much like carbon I doubt there is major differences in several of them.

I used phos guard from Seachem. I guess it worked alright, my Phosphates test at zero now but really I can't compare it to anything else because I have nto used anything else. The bag that it came in came apart the 2nd month or so, so be careful if you are using that. the media was everywhere in my sump.
