Phosban Reactor

I'm thinking of getting a phosban reactor for my 100g tank. I have a nutrient problem going on that is creating cyano that is becoming hard to fight. My flow is good in my tank, but the sand bed is still covered in a red/purplish slime.

Is there anything I need to know about the reactors that could potentially mess up the tank? Are they hard maintain?

You need a phosphate test kit. The effluent needs to test 0. So keep turning it to slow the flow till it reaches 0

I have a test kit, I just haven't figured out a way to remove them. The test typically read around close to zero, but I think it is because the cyano is burning it all up.

What test kit are you using? If you are using one where you have to read the color I have an Hanna Checker you can cross-check your results against. After trying the types where you have to read the colors, I'm sold on the Hanna Checker as the best way to go.
