ph probe cleaning

I found a small bit of pink buildup around my ph probe for ca reactor i cleaned it off manually and then put it in calibration fluid 4.01 before i cleaned it it read 4.5 in the solution after it read 4.0. is there some kind of homemade solution to clean these probes or do i need to order it. Use white vinegar and soak in a 2 parts water-1 vinegar solution for a few hours or overnight...

Vinegar is our best cleaning agent.

No problem... white vinegar is often one of the best cleaning solutions that is pretty effective. Obviously you don't want to use it in tank, but for getting Coraline and calcium deposits off, its one of the better solutions to use. I always make it habit of keeping a gallon jug on hand :)

Just be careful when scrubbing the tip... don't use anything too rough on it.

Its also great for soaking powerheads, pumps and other equipment.
