Peppermint eggs

Not sure where to post this since there isn't an invert forum. But I have TWO pregnant peppermint shrimps in my tank with little green eggs on their undersides. I have already ordered the book "How to Raise and Train you Peppermint Shrimps" but does anyone want these eggs? I am the kind of person who feels bad if I just let them get eaten before they even have a chance. Maybe someone can pick up the two shrimps and just give them back to me after the eggs have hatched.

I was also thinking of trying to raise them myself as I have MANY small tanks I can use with extra small pumps. But I am a relative newb so...

Advise would be lovely

I would try it yourself. It will be fun to watch them and if they don't make it you tried your best. If you already bought a book than you are more knowledgable than 99% on here on that subject.

well I don't have any fish and I am getting rid of the crabs either tomorrow or the next day. I will however have large feather dusters in there. do they filter feed on the larve? What are chances of ANY survival with this combination?

I have seen a few hatchings of my peppermint shrimp and it is really cool to see. Most all of them have been eaten by the fish, or sucked into the filtration. I do know of one guy who had them all over the place in his propogation tanks. Feeding live phyto is important, but don't count on seeing many survive to even get their color. Without predation, you may actually see a few of them running around on the sand a few weeks after they hatch.

If you have moonlights you'll probably have the best chance of seeing them at night when they swarm the water column after hatching. Good Luck!

What you need to do is read an article, any article, written by someone that has raised them successfully.

Here's what they looked like when they were released in my tank:

There are photographs in my log, but you'd have to look about 6 months ago I think.
