Panorama Marine Led's

So this past weekend I purchased 4 of the 48" Panorama Marine LED's to go over my 320gal tank. I wanted to see if anyone else has these and what type of corals are you keeping with them. I know on the box it says softies but I'm not really clear what that includes. I emailed the company and to ask what would I need to keep SPS, and they said I would be able to keep them if I added two additional actinic fixtures. I'm not worried about SPS right now I just want to start phasing out the fake with the real and add some much needed color to my tank. My tank is 27" deep and I have the LED's mounted 4" from the waters surface. Also any advice on how to acclimate the new additions to the lit in the tank would be great as well. My lights have built in dimmers so I can adjust the 12k and actinic LEDs separately.

Thanks in advance

I would assume when they said "softies" that would be leathers, xenia, zoas, etc. SPS needs a more intense light. I don't quite get their comment about actinics being needed to grow SPS.....actinics are pretty much added for the aesthetic value. I would not buy any additional lights until someone that knows the lights you bought sticks in their .02. It sounds like you have an awesome tank, pics?

The term softies wouldn't include torches and frogspawns. Those are large polyp stony corals (LPS) that require medium light. I'm not saying your light could not support them or sayin that they could (I'm not familiar with the light), just saying that those specific corals are classified different and that your light is not advertising that it's able to light them. :)

That's what I thought about the actinic lights, but I was doing some reading and I found that blue light penetrates the deepest and since SPS require the most intense lighting I'm only assuming this is why they were saying the two additional actinic fixtures would be enough. I sent them another email and I'm waiting to hear from them. And here's a pic of my tank, not much to look at now.

So I heard back from the Ecoxotic team, the manufactures of the Panorama Marine LEDs, and this was their reply to my question about what types of corals I could keep in my tank:

Dear Hobbyist,

Thank you so much for contacting Ecoxotic and purchasing our LED products. With four Panorama Marine LEDs over a 27" deep tank - you'll be able to keep any type of soft and LPS coral. In addition, you can keep SPS corals in the top 1/2 of the tank.

Please let us know if you have any further questions and thanks again for your purchase.

Sincerely,
The Ecoxotic Team

I guess I will start with some simple easy care corals and then work my way up to the more intense one, but if anyone has these I would love to hear your opinion.

I agree with the softies and some LPS. As far as SPS, you can try some easy ones at first (montis, birdsnest, etc) and see how they do, they should be an indication of if you are running enough light for some of the tougher pieces. You can also try Googling your lights and adding "will it grow SPS" and you might find some who have had success or not using them
