My overflow pipe currently dips perhaps 2" below the surface of the water in my sump. Even with the durso standpipe, it gurgles a lot, obviously from air in the pipe. It also has lots of salt creep around the sump in that area.
I'm of the opinion that if I shorten the pipe to above water, it would allow anything in the pipe to travel one way instead of the traffic jam that's occurring now.
How far above the surface should I cut it? And will I see a decrease in the amount of salt creep?
