OT: We need a general / reef discussion folder too

While advanced forums are great, we need a catch all forum for general reef chatter. ?

All my messages are gone. All my posts are gone. It says that I joined 6 days ago, and have posted nothing. Is this the final straw that drives everyone off the site forever, or just the pain associated with change? Will we all be wanting a refund because we are no longer getting what we had? All of that information/posts/threads/messages belonged to us, the club, and now we don't have it any more? Not good, McGhee!Welcome to the desert that moments ago was a verdant land!

I agree on all points, although this was announced (on short notice) via PM a few days ago. ?You may still be able to request your threads be pulled in here. ?I put in a request for several, although it looks like they are still working on that.

I would like to request that we go back to our web site, as it was working very nicely, and had all of the history of the club within it. OR, at least transfer all of it here. (Please forgive me! I don't do well with what seems like unneeded change. If something works, I don't want to fix it.) I am thinking that had there been a poll taken as to whether we needed to change the web site in some way, we would have said "no" by a majority. But, who am I? An ignorant hick, and just one of maybe 5, or 6 people that will frequent this site ever again? ;(

I like and wanted the change. ?I am not for losing all the history as I have said in other posts. ?The archive needs to either stay and be searchable, or get ported over. ?There is too much valuable information in there to rely on people who might not even be around anymore to come along and point out something (they probably already forgot) that needs to be moved over. ?Sure, you can leave out any of the "off topic" and "not hobby related" threads, but tank builds, and help Q&A should all be here.
