Yeah, they can let go and float along to find a new spot. Mine have split a number of times and sometimes I'll see the new ones rolling along the sand and can put them on some rocks to attach. Sometimes they disappear into the rock work though. For all I know I have a couple barely surviving in the rocks somewhere.
I had a beautiful orange ricordia in one of my old tanks, and i swear, all it wanted to do was find the deepest, darkest, most non-visible place it could. such a shame when they do that [smilie=thinking.gif]
