opaque white growth

Hi I was looking into my tank about an hour ago and I noticed this stuff growing inside of a hole in my LR. The image makes the stuff look smooth like a sponge but it has a very wirey(is that even a word?) look to it instead. Actually the stuff reminds me of how roots on a plant look. I am going to see if I can get a better pic tonight after my batteries charge.
It does not look like eggs.

it looks like a non-specific sponge. Filter feeders. I had some in my reef tank, it bloomed, I panicked, reduced the feeding and it was virtually gone within a week or so. a good rule of thumb, sponges don't do too well if exposed to air. I think a turkey baster just blasting some air on them for a minute or so will diminish their growth. it seemed to work for me on the larger pieces.

Someone else had mentioned a sponge to me but they always described the sponge as being smooth and like porcelain. mine isn't smooth. it really reminds me of little roots growing all over each other to form one big mass. but if this is still a sponge then that makes me happy that it isn't some sort of diseased fungus.

thanks
