Coming along nicely... Ya' gonna drill the tank, or use a hang-on overflow?

(I have a diamond-tipped drill bit if you're interested, but it'd be at your liability! :) )

I reeeeealy want to but I know that my wife would have my head on a platter if it were to crack. I can't stop thinking about it though. :lol:

Totally up to you, not trying to pressure you, but I've drilled 3 holes so far, and haven't cracked the glass yet... The first couple ones I did chip the inside of the hole a bit, but it was perfectly sealable with sililcone around the bulkhead, and I've got the technique down better now...

If you wanna try it, I could bring the drill and bit to your place since you're so close. You'd definitely wanna find out if the bottom's tempered or not, or just drill through the back instead of the bottom to stay on the safe side...

If you do go this route, Marc can make a custom overflow for ya' to make it a full reef-ready tank...

But as I said, not trying to pressure you at all, I fully understand the fear of the wrath of the spousal unit!!! :wink:
 
Thanks Brian! I will certainly keep it in mind.... I'm still trying to talk her into it. :? She said to me "I don't understand why we have to do all this stuff to it.... I just want it set up." The only argument I have in it's favor beside the slight risk of a flood is that it's astheticly pleasing. Shoot, I thought that alone would have been enough.... Well, I do still have time.
