Ok, what's this? Some kind of red algae?

This is growing in my 12g nano

Anybody know what it is? I have about three or four little spots of it. It's actually very pretty, but I haven't a clue what it might be. It's not a cabbage leather, looks like some kind of algae maybe. Ideas anyone? If it's something nasty, I need to get ahead of it now. If not, then it can stay where it is. It IS attached to the rocks, so I would think that rules out dragons breath, which is the closest thing I can find in appearance.

edit - sorry for the crummy photo, it's the best I can do. I don't possess the camera skills that are so apparent on this board :)

It's probably Dragon's breath (Halymenia) or Nitophyllum. Dragon's breath has pointy tips and the Nitophyllum will have rounded tips. They can usually be kept in check pretty easily. Very pretty after they grow out after a while.

Dragons breath is pretty attractive stuff, imo. I wouldnt mind having some in my tank if I could get my hands on it for a decent price.

This must be nito then. Has pretty, scalloped rounded edges. It's actually very pretty to look at. Heath, once mine gets bigger I will give you some if you want it. I can't let it get too big, since it's in my 12g nano.
