Octopus 200 or Lifereef vs2-24 ?

The lifereef is a knock off but the owner said it's identical to the original.
Just wanted to see if anyone has any experience with any of these skimmers.

My total water volume is about 220gal.

All opinions will be much appreciated.

I have used the NW200 on my combined 125"s for the last 2 years and it has done a good job. I am lightly stocked but a heavy feeder. I am building a 300G tank now and an witching to the MSX250 for it.

I owned the LR model several years ago and wouldn't go back to it. The amount of skimming it did didn't compare or hold up to any of the newer needle wheel skimmers. It was also prone to overflowing. In sump use that wouldn't be a problem, but I had mine plumbed externally and it was a mess.

They are well built, but the design is aged now and there are much better skimmers for the same price available without the overflow problems.

I had one for about a year, and was happy when I replaced it with my Euroreef. I had it overflow often, and I'd see water running down the driveway... which would clue me in to go check on the skimmer yet again. Jeff's a great guy, but that skimmer wasn't good for my setup.
