Does anyone have an opinion or a testimonial about Ocean View tanks? I was thinking of buying one and was just wondering if anyone had anything good/bad to say about them.

Thanks!!

My 55 gallon refuguim is an Oceanview, and I've been quite happy with it... The fact that they're willing to customize it for you without fleecing you on the price is a BIG bonus!

I've currently got a 55 for display and its great! Cant say that its as nice as Oceanic or something but Cant complain :D

I have bought several Oceanview tanks over the years and have only had good experiences with them. They aren't finished out as well as an Oceanic tank but to the average eye you just don't notice the subtle differences.

The 120 that is in my signature is an Ocean view. the glass is incredibly hefty for the tank size. I think the empty weight of my 120 (49x19x29) weighs close to 150-175 lbs) the plastic framing is rather lame (it's an older tank) but after a reseal (I bought it knowing it was a reptile tank that leaked) it holds water even under pressure and not level.
I would say they're very solid tanks.

I like my ocean view 60 gallon cube. The seals arent as pretty as Oceanic, but it doesn't bother me. It is VERY heavy for its size also.

I used to maintain a 180 gallon Ocean View that was a dedicated reef tank. I have been maintaining tanks for a long time and am quite proud in the care I take to do the job correctly. After taking care of this tank, I would never personally use OceanView for a reef or marine tank due to what I consider to be questionable sealing practices. The silicone is often times thin and or inconsistent and in this case simply started to come apart and peel away from the joined corners slowly at a time. I observed many more than just this sample that were just as bad if not worse in the sealing department.

That said, they are affordable

PS- The OceanAtlantis tanks are in my opinion a much better tank due to the very hefty glass (suckers are heavy), consistent sealing practices, and lets not forget the metal center bracing.
