Me personally I would buy Marco rock and start cooking it and use alittle vit of water change water to seed it and then replace your live rock cook it and sell it on the boards

I would be willing to hold your corals for you so you don't have to sale them. I can't do much about the fish sorry but I can help out with corals.

I would start with 100 lbs and go from there. You really don't need to have someone babysit your corals if rock is cooked and seeded. Should only take 2-3 weeks to get that Marco rock ready.

Once ready pop off old corals and mount to new rock. As long as your new rock has bacteria from old tank you shouldn't have a cycle

Hopefully you haven't taken down the tank yet, it can be fixed. Id be happy to take on the challenge

we've cured tanks just like yours in our giant peroxide thread on rc, peruse it if you'd like and then holler back if you would like to clean this tank up as well, the outcomes are always the same, no takedown needed. Peroxide is the best curing tool Ive seen across ten years of reef fads we've seen online
google this

"pico reef pest algae problem challenge"

it has 20 pages of pics and various pest kills as well as dosing techniques, amounts, tolerant animals (sps not a prob) etc

Get yourself a nice Dejardini and Butterfly. You want talk about bubble?? My old 120 was bubble central. Like all the left socks that were misplaced in the universe, the left bubbles ended up in that tank. It was overrun. It was ugly.....it was down-right embarassing. Ask Frank about that tank... he was embarassed for me. When I would travel and he would do water changes, there would be a trail of dried up bubble husks on the driveway from the ones he siphoned out.

So... In swims the Dejardini sailfin..... and within a week or so all bubble aglae gone.

Same fish today.. I have an outbreak of the long valonia in my frag tank. I move frags into the main tank and the Dejardini and Purple Tang clean it off before lights out. Seriously... they will start on the frag in my hand on the way onto the rack.

Same thing with the Butterfly and Aiptasia. I'll hold a frag and my butterfly will come over... bang bang bang nip.. suction and the aiptasia is a puff of anenome guts and hes looking for the next tidbit.

So instead of breaking your tank down... go the natural route. It takes time but it can be done. You'll have spots the fish can't get to. When I move or relocate something they are always all over the spot since there are often little tidbits for them to snack on that were protected.

Funny you mention that. I added a Yellow Tang (obviously Zebrasoma family like your Sailfin Tang) and it erradicated the bubble algae in about a week. That along with the GHA from the rocks and glass. I had no idea they ate Valonia! said:
Yep. I've talked about it before and recommended people try it for a few years. Even the small ones will help all you need to do is pop the bigger ones for them and they will eat the skins up. As far as other stuff, the cotton candy I'd be willing to say if its edible, it will get eaten. Some algae like bryopsis has anti-predatory stuff in it to discourage animals from eating it but I don't think cotton candy is one of them. I know I have seen them eat the red brillo pad stuff off the rocks and hair algae but they won't go near bryopsis.

I know yellows will do it sometimes but I have had great success with Purple Tangs and Dejardini. Maybe its the Red Sea connection I dunno.

I'll see if I can get a video of these guys in action this weekend its really a sight to see.

As far as the butterflies go. Call Frank and see if has any in... the location of collection helps determine their health and their diet... also get one no bigger than 2" from tip of his nose to the end of his tail. The younger ones seem to be more prone to eat aiptasia.

If you're interested I have a midwest aquatics nitrate reactor I'll sell you for $50. Just the media alone costs that much....
