NO3 Po4

Anyone on here familiar with this RedSea product that is used to "safely" reduce nitrates levels? I already use GFO and biopellet reactors already. I have a heavy bio load and started using this product about 3 weeks ago, ramping dosing up as recommended. Just the past week or so, I've noticed my two large red plating montiporas started bleaching. Does anyone know if this product have any adverse affect on Corals. All my parameters are within limits, without going into details, the only reading off is high nitrates. Thanks in advance. I am leary, because this is the only change I've made in the last 6 months. I still have two 1L bottles of this stuff for sale if anyone has had success with this product.

I started using NOPOX about three weeks ago and have not had any adverse effects. It did lower both my nitrates and phosphates. I think there is a danger in lowering them too quickly.

I used it for awhile before I got a bio pellet reactor. Didn't drop my nitrates to 0 but dropped them from 100 to around 20-25ish. I have a heavy bio load as well. My corals didn't bleach but they didn't thrive by any means. The corals do better now with my bio reactor but my nitrates fluctuate more now. Thought about going back to using it in conjunction with my bio pellet reactor but only using 1/2 doses.

Thanks guys, maybe I will look for another culprit. NoPox probably did not cause the bleaching then...

You might want to check and see what Red Sea's recommendation is for using NOPOX along with biopellets and GFO. They have a forum at Reef Central. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2094884

I've been using it for months and it has done nothing but help. I've got a mixed reef and have not seen any adverse effects on any of my corals.

I have never had any issues using this product I have been using it almost 2 years now on a very heavy bio load and a full sps tank my nitrates stay 0 along with phosphates and my corals grow like weeds with great color. I just bought a doser to dose this product two times a day.
