I got my new toy in today. A Neptune ACII. The crappy thing is I have been doing yard work all day. So I am just now getting to mess with it, and aqua notes. I got the ACII, Aqua Notes, DC8 and probes (no opr). I bought it form Reef Exotics. Tony was a great person to do business with, will definitely be doing more business with him.

I was just curious was the PH solution supposed to come with the ph probe? I thought it was a given that if you got a new probe they would provide the solution to calibrate...maybe I am just weird though. I sent an e-mail to Tony to if it was supposed to be in the package. If not I guess I need to buy some. Any chance that can be bought locally?
 
They dont come with it, you have to get your own. I think fish gallery may have some, otherwise just order it online
 
Just ask your LFS for it. They can order it.

As far as I'm concerned, just hook it up and assume it is correct. Then when you get the solution in, you can test it and adjust it if needed.
 
Steve, I have a pack of it if you want to get a jump on ordering it.

If it's not all hooked up, bring the controller and probe with you. I'd like to see if it matches my reading.

Thing is I'll be gone ALL day today, unless you came in the next hour.

A couple of things when calibrating your pH probe on the AC.

- Use pH 7 and pH 10 calibration solutions.
- First make sure the temperature correction is on.
- Rinse the probes with RO/DI water before putting them in the pH solutions. This is so you don't cross-contaminate the solutions.
- Put both the temperature and pH probes in the calibration solution when prompted by the controller.

Thank you everyone for the offer. I did what Marc suggested. I went ahead and threw it in. I looks to be correct but I am still going to go ahead and order some so I can make sure that it is correct and have some on hand incase I need more.

The ACII is going to be connected to my PC with a permanent connection; I was reading that a ground isolated serial connector is recommended. They said this will stop any crazy readings for the Ph and Opr probes caused by the PC.

So far I have not had any crazy readings. Do you think I need this? Also if I do need it is this something I can get from Frys for cheaper then Neptune, or is it something special?
