new tank setup after a month

About a month and a half ago I set up this seahorse tank. It was about a week prior to the last tank tour, so some of you may have seen it

It is a 29g with about 40lbs of live rock (15lbs of LR rubble and 25lbs of rock

Mechanical filtration is provided by a Remora skimmer with overflow box, a HOB small filter with a sponge filter and carbon bag and a Maxijet 900 for additional flow

I added a false back made of egg-crate. It harbors live rock rubble and macro algase that are growing out and over the egg-crate as you will be able to see in the photos

I picked up a couple of seahorses from sealife.inc, they are wild and needed to be trained to eat frozen mysis. I over feed the tank for the first couple weeks with brine and had some algae bloom, but it seems to be dieing off now. The ponies are readily accepting frozen mysis and actually swim up and attack the turkey baster, I use for feeding, on sight. It took a couple week to get them from live brine to frozen mysis.

Other tank mates include a pair of firefish, a bi-color blenny, some zoa's, a ric, a harlequin brittle star and some other hitchhikers, along with two snails that I pulled from my main.

Currently I do not intend to add a sump but it’s not out of the question.

Water changes will be done every 3 weeks using water from my main.

I'm finding I have to pull excess macro algea out about every other week.

Hope you enjoy the pics
