New tang from AD

Went to AD yesterday to pick up some new fish.

I got a lawnmower blenny, emerald crab, anda blue eyed kole tang.

The tang ate well in the store, shows 0 signs of ich or scratching. Right now on day 2 hes swimming about picking algae off the side of the tank, rocks, and sand. Very happy with the purchase so far! I'm not sure what the deal is I know they've gotten some bad press in the past, but thier fish look great, I saw no signs of ich on anything in the store, and they have the best prices around. The emerald crab was $8.99.

They also added some new tanks up front with a lot nicer selection of corals, and are lighting it with halides, instead of VHO's now.

They still have that purple tang with the awful case of HLL disease in thier display though :/ and I still make my own water :p

i have always had really good luck in this store. They usually have really good pricing and advice... I just try to avoid the old guy.

I also like to buy my fish from Aquatic Design. Their fish don't have as many parasites as other stores.

The pic I already linked is the closest to its current colors.

Picture 2 and 5.

Not a fish I can remember seeing before.

James, if you use a large piece of nori, the fish might be scared of it. Rather, tear off a small piece, and rubberband that to a small piece of LR and put it at the base of the tank. Add some garlic drops to the Nori, letting it soak into the sheet for 5 minutes before placing it in the tank.

Some have actually wetted some Nori, then wrapped it around the rock and baked it in the oven just long enough to dry it out. Then it was placed in the tank for the fish to pick at.

the only thing I don't really like about aquatic design is that they tend to crowd their fish in the tanks. Just seems like it puts more stress on the fish than needed. But every fish I've ever bought there has done very well.

I'm going to give this a try tomorrow. I couldn't get my hippo to eat off the veggie clip even when I just tore off a small sheet and soaked in garlic. Do you think it may be scared of the clip itself? I have the one that is a clownfish clip.

Try a different clip. I have had problems with clips that are shapes in the past. Some of my fish were scared of them.

Just bought a Naso and 6 line from them. Both are beautiful and are eating well. They have an awesome blond Naso, pretty big, but just a little outside my price range. The coloring was unbeliievable.

Here is a picture of the new guy. He has really hit it off with my small yellow tang, it's almsot like a they swim/school together. BTW this fish loves to swim fast back and forth in my 6' long tank, I think he is getting over being cooped up in the LFS tank.
