New sps photos - With my new photo box - thanks marc!

[This is an ORA frag that Gordon Nelson bought from the Fish Gallery. Thanks Gordon for letting me baby sit this coral in my tank. This is coral is called Miami Orchid Staghorn. It's very pretty. I am finally able to take a closeup with the photo box built by Marc - because this frag is located just right below the halide bulb.

[I called this coral Nick's Tri-color. Got it as 3 small frags from Nick a year and half ago. It has grown to a nice small colony.

[Thanks. Still need alot of practice now that I have a photo box of Marc. Maybe this weekend I'll try to locate my digital camera user manuel to figure out how to change a few things.]

[Looks like it could be a.divarcata.]

[No - I don't use a phosphate reactor. It will probably help with reducing algae growth. But now that I lower the sps to sand (removed the rack I had previously which suspect the coral) and increased water flow - algae is not as bad as it is before. I'm having trouble keeping up the calcium used up by the sps.]

[This is the box I built for Peter, because he has one of those cameras that pivot at a central point.

The shot of your pink milleopora could be retaken so that all of it is in focus. What you do is set your camera's f/stop to a higher number. f/7 or f/11 for example. The shutter speed will be slower, so keep your hand steady. Using the camera's auto-focus, focus on the tip of the coral closest to you. With the higher f/stop, the Depth of Field is altered to include the background so that everything is in focus.

If you wanted just the tip focused, keep the f/stop low - f/2.8 - and focus on the tip only. The rest will be blurry in the background.

I'm glad you're happy. :)]
