New Sand

I got about 100lbs of southdown that have been sitting for some time. Is there a proper way to wash it and mix it with live sand?

Sitting wet or dry? If dry, just rinse it well with fresh water until it doesn't run cloudy. If wet, and you really want to use it, then you want to rinse it really well and let it sit in a tub of saltwater for a week or so with heater and powerhead to let anything in the sand die off and cycle.

this is very dry
I wasnt sure if a fresh water rinse was the right way, or a saltwater rinse.

I could use more sand if anyone knows a LFS or person that has some live sand sitting around after a tank tare down...
assistance is very much appreciated.

I am going to be doing the same thing in a couple of weeks with some Southdown... I was wondering what method did you use to rinse the sand, and how did it work for you?
