New RO/DI: cheapo Ebay or BRS?

Ok, so I need to get an RO unit. I was thinking of buying one on Ebay for cheap. Looks to be decent and the seller has a good rep, here's the link for reference:

Does anyone have any personal experience with these or any thoughts on the matter? I'm sure they're cheaply made, but if they work...

My other option would be to get a 75 gal/day unit from BRS. About $60 more than the ebay unit.

Can anyone give me solid reasons NOT to get the Ebay one? Is it really not worth it?

I have a similar unit from Water General it works great. I made some mods to it though. I added a outlet before the DI chambers on top. That way you can pull some water before the DI chambers and I added a inline TDS meter before and after the DI chambers. It is a good unit the only down side is that it is not as easy to change out the DI resin as some of the other units.

The unit seems o.k !! If you want, you can go to e-bay and look for Filter-Direct, its another on-line store. I purchased mine from them and it is an excellent unit. Works like a charm. It's a little more( paid $140.00 or so) than the one your looking at, but not a huge difference.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, all. I went ahead earlier this morning and pulled the trigger on the cheap-o ebay model. Almost ready to setup my new 90 and it was time to finalize a lot of decisions, and I just couldn't overcome my own inherant cheapness!

Hopefully it'll work out just fine. I'll try to post back here and let any interested parties know about it (although this will be my first experience personally using an RO unit, so take my opinion for what it's worth. Not much.)

If it winds up sucking hard-core, then at least it can be a learning oppurtunity for others in the market for one!

I have been extremely happy with mine i got from Air, water and Ice. Which reminds me i need to order some replacement filters for it. I dont miss buying water or lugging it home all the time. One of the best investments for my reef i have bought. Make sure you get a TDs meter, mine came with one.

I know you alread got the unit, but anyone else reading the thread and looking, I saw a used RO at Fish Gallery on Monday. Don't know the quality / condition, but there you go.

I got a used Kent RO/DI at DNA about 18 months ago and it's been great! I replaced all the filters and I get 0 TDS.
