New BTA

Hey Guys,

So I got a Green BTA from DNA yesterday and got him/her acclimated and into my tank. I sat him down on a rock in my tank and it seemed ok. The ends were bubbled and everything looked okay, now today he is underneath and overhang of one of my rocks, but still looks ok. Should I be worried?

how old is your tank and your lights? what do your parameters look like? this could just be him acclimating to the tank and finding a place he likes.

My tank is about 3 months old, but everything in it: sand, rock, and half of the water, came from a tank that was established for 8+ years. For lights I am running a quad T5 fixture with lunar LED's. My params are all good.

I think he is just acclimating, but this is my first Anem and I have read about how weird they can be, so I'm just asking questions early, just to be on the safe side.

3 months really isnt long enough, your stuff may have come from an existing tank but its still a new tank. what are your parameters specifically?

Per the other thread we kinda told you to wait to let tank to become more established.

Personally 4 t5 bulbs is not enough light especially if two of the bulbs are actinic. Only the two day bulbs are putting out any par for the anemone.

DNA should of advised you to hold out alittle longer and maybe either change the actinic bulbs or get bigger fixture.

Also what is you salinity at? If salinity is out of range that is not good for the anemone

I didn't mean to go against what you guys told me, but I was told many different things. I was told by many that they recommend I wait, but I was also told by many that I should be able to have one.

I apologize if I seemed like I completely ignored what you guys told me - that was certainly not the case. I took into account what everyone told me.

My salinity is at 1.024. All of my params are great and I am going to do a water change this evening just to be on the safe side.

Like I said, it doesn't look bad at all. It looks extremely healthy - all of the tips are bubbled - the color is great. It looks very healthy. I just wasn't sure if it was normal for them to go under a rock like that or if I should be worried.

I did listen to recommendations, if you would have read my post above...

I was given many recommendations, some to wait and some to go ahead. It is hard to get a definitive answer because I am being told different things by different people. Some told me to wait and some told me it should be okay.

Might moving as flow is too much prob moved trying to find a sweet spot. If it stays hidden for 3 or 4 days then I would start to worry.
