I have a friend here in East Texas & his SH's just had 200 babies. He need food for them. He didnt have time to get his food going.

Is there someone here in the E.Texas area that has some food they can spare to sell ?

What kind of seahorses? if they are reidi your going to need rotifers if not sometimes baby brinw will do

In a pinch, has anyone tried using frozen rotifers, now that they're readily available? No clue if they'd work at all, but figured I'd ask...

Bump - I'd try calling around to different LFS, but I've been buying it at Boutique Pets in Dallas on Garland road... Happy hike for anyone out your way, but might be worth calling around to see if any of the LFS you frequent have...

I have no clue if these are the "right" kind of Rotifers (Or if there even are multiple kinds), or if the babies will go for non-living rotifers, but if nothing else it might be worth a shot...

The LFS here wont have them for sure & I bet they wont in Shreveport or Bossier either but will have him call & see for sure. I will let him know what you said to try. Maybe he can hit the Dallas area.

Thanks for your help.

Good news !!

He has already bought this food & said it looks like they are eating some of it but hes not for sure. I dont know where he bought the food. I have asked so I should here somthing tomarrow.

If you dont have rotifers try bbs. My reidi ate them from day 1. If their bellies turn pink they are eating the bbs. I have had zero luck with frozen on newborn babies.

Same here, our fry batches didn't touch frozen rotifers for a while. Your friend really need rotifers... until they can get the BBS going.

I did let him know that he could get a BS kit & that they would hatch oun in a day or two. Maybe he found one.
