Kind of a silly question :)

I got a few additions to the tank.
a 1.5 inch Fire Shrimp and a porcelain crab, and they seem to be a couple of scared little guys lol. the fire chose the most out of the way spot in the tank to hide so out of the way I have to look for his antenna poking out of a rock to make sure he is still there. the Crab isnt as bad he just chose a littlie cave and hangs out there and that is the only place. I have had them in the tank for about 5 days now but was wondering if it usually takes a few weeks for them to get a bit more hutspa and make themselves more visable in the tank.

Thanks for the ideas :)

Just a note 5 days IMHO they should start comming out but remember the more you mess with the contents of your tank the longer it takes..

I had a Royal Gramma and I thought he was dead.. I could not find him .. It took 2 weeks for him to come out.. And still if I walk up to the tank he is gone..

He now lives and sleeps in Scull mountain in the left eye.

Your fire shrimp may never come out...I had a fire shrimp and a skunk cleaner...the skunk came out all the time and the fire shrimp would only come at feeding time. He liked to hang out under the rocks in a cave. I also have porcelain crabs I received from someone who was breaking down their tank. I have not seen them since putting them in the tank.

Sorry to be the bearer of potential bad news...hope your critters come out.

Well the Fire has been making himself seen moreso hehe sure it is at feeding time but he is at least poking his head out and getting stuff from my hand hehe.. the crab is out more as well just hanging out in a cave and stuff for now but you can see him :p

I have a porcelain anemone crab and he's been my tank favorite since I got him 2 months ago. It took a couple of days for him to pick between two large candy cane colonies before he decided on one and has been there since. He's pretty much out in the open all of the time now fanning for food. I don't know if that's typical, but he's never been very shy or intimidated by the other guys in my tank which include an arrow crab and banded shrimp.

Here's a pic:

Funny, that's what I thought too since my frogspawn are the closest things I have to an anemone. But my guy never went near the frogspawn and instead tried out the candy canes on opposite sides of the tank before picking one.
