I'm about to purchase a Neptune system apex controller . My question is do I need the upgraded ph probe or is the standard probe good enough for accuracy?

Lab grade probes have the following advantages:- Higher quality junction which results in a longer probe lifetime.- Epoxy seal on the tip of the probe. The seal makes the probepressure rated so that it can be mounted in inline fittings. said:

if you want to go lab grade rhf reccomends a different probe which is around $80

They both test the same with the lab grade having a slightly smaller margin of error. The lab grade is less likely to need recalibration according to my conversation with neptune systems.

It's only $25 more if you're buying the unit at the same time as opposed to $80 as a stand alone. The low price increase was worth including it with my Apex purchase.

to test reg tank water i would go reg probe if going in a ca reactor i would reccomend lab grade.

they say lab grade last a year longer too so you pay $$ upfront but if it lasts a year longer that eventually saves you money

Okay. I think I will just do the normal probe. At this time I'm just excited to have monitoring capability while traveling with the family . Now if they could just make a unit that thaws your frozen food and feeds fish. Maybe next year !
