Ok I will be moving soon, and wil make my tank inwall. I have 100's of lil black snails, and do not like them. I am thinking of getting new sand but would I have to do the cycle again? and once I move I been thinking about getting a ribbon eel, is this a good idea.

I moved from a 60 gallon to a 140. I used new sand, and new water and just transferred everything and never saw any type of a cycle.

I did use the expensive sand that has bacteria in it. That may have helped.

Have you read the thread about caring for & feeding a blue ribbon eel? It was very informative. I think it was ThreadOTM on RC a few months ago.

How old is the current sandbed? You could rinse it out to clean it up before putting it in the new tank. http://www.melevsreef.com/rinsing_sand.html

If you set up the tank with water from your current tank, and keep all your LR submerged during the move, you should be able to avoid a cycle.

well I might just get some new crushed coral and some fine aragonite, that way it will have more buffing capacity..
