Need ID help

I thought I had an outbreak of a brown algae. It was close to my pink sp. and corky finger. I did a water change on Tuesday and vacuumed it and the sand around it. It has come back, and today has formed this ridge. Is this a type algae?

Cyano aka blue-green algae (yes, I know, it's not blue or green).

Grrrrrrrr.......I read the link and don't understand "why me?" My tank has been up and running over a year, nitrates are under 10, I have done the same 10% weekly water changes.......what I don't understand is why it is forming this crest, why so fast, and only in this 3" by 6" area. I will do another wc tonight and get it out again.

Cyano bacteria is a natural part of our reefs. Most of it is unseen, but when you end up with a bloom like that, we hate it. It is too much of that particular bacteria.

Siphoning, water changes, lack of light, more flow, more clean up crew, chemicals - they all help deal with it.
