Need help with sump/fuge.

Well, Ive decided not to use the sump/fuge that came with the tank I bought used. I am planing on using my 55 gallon for a sump/fuge using glass baffles. Does anyone have any plans for a 55 sump/fuge they have used before or can maybe help me design one? I have read Marc's site, but would still like a little direction, or plans for something that is known to work. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I just built one for my tank from a 55 gal.

Since I wanted the flow to be less than the main sump, I built the fuge off of the bottom of the 55. So overflow water goes down PCV and is split for a small flow through the fuge and most of the flow passes under the fuge. I liked this design because it allows for maximum use of space. The most important thing is to make sure you have enough space in your sump to catch all overflow water during a power outage.

This can easily be done by using the RC calculators.

I'll send you a pic if you give me your email.

I have durso's as well, but I still get about a 6 inch rise in sump level with the pump turned off.

Email Sent. I have no idea how to post pics on this site.
