Need help moving 211g tank

[Hi all -
Many thanks to Chris Tippit's help - we completed a new stand for my 'old' 211 g tank. See picturs below. Chris did most of the work. The stand turned out great. It's exactly what I need. I was going to paint it black - but decided white works better as it blends in with the wall.

I'm looking for 2-3 people to help moving my 211 g (68x30x24) acrylic tank Saturday Nov-15 around 10-11am. We'll move it from one room to another (about 30 feet).

Between now until Saturday, I will have the tank empty - drained ready to go. I expect the whole moving process will not take more than 15 minutes.

If you can help, please contact me by phone 972-659-1406 or e-mail peterlin71@hotmail.com. I'm flexible on the hours, but I thought I set a time on saturday morning - so that this will give me the rest of weekend to play with the tank. I'm turning this tank to SPS tank also - because my 150 g clam tank is out of room.

[Peter, I will not know my schedule 'til later in the week. However, I would be glad to come help on Saturday if I don't work. Send me a PM later in the week to check my schedule and remind me.]

[Peter, I can be a 5th man I am a little limited on weight with the surgery. But, I know you'd do it for me!]

[I'm out of town! :D Enjoy the move, guys.]

[Hey Peter, at about 7lbs per gallon how are you going to lift it? That is roughly 1400lbs. It could crush a man and break the tank if it were full? Are you going to be bagging your critters and drain the tank?

My wife would love to see your tanks and orchids...can I bring her?]

[Hey guys,
I'll be sending you a private message about the details. I really appreciate your help. I'll have some pizza and beers in case you like are hungry or thirsty. Nothing fancy.

Brian - It's my intetion to empty the tank before the move. I remembered it was a struggle for 3 people to move the tank empty. But with 4-5 people it should be piece of cake. I haven't decided on whether to empty the sandbed or not. I might take as much sand out as possible. It's a paid to scope the sand out. Fortunately, sand bed is about 1 inch.

Again, thanks. I'm looking forward to decorate the tank as if it's new again.

Peter]

[I totally agree, if the sandbed is only an inch leave it alone. Unless its something you were going to do anyways. Now if it was 300-400lbs of sand you would have to.]

[Will the sandbed be okay with little water for a few days? I'm planning on saving almost 150 gallon of water, and will make new water.]

[Keep at least 4" of water over it, lay a heater in there, and keep at least one powerhead to move the water.

Or plan on draining it the night before the move.]

[Most of the sand and it creatures are the more durable kind the bacteria you are looking to keepi is anerobic no water or air. The worms need minimal water. The mens backs, mine included are not so durable. Drain as much as possible just prior to the move. Leave at least an inch above sand level the night before.]
