[Emerald crab will do the job within hours of finding it I think. Mine went in tank and by the next day the several bubbles had disapeared. Also I think a foxface will eat the stuff. If you want to pull the rock out and remove it ( the algae ) and then wash it carefully you may be able to dispatch it that way too. I would not try it in the tank though. You will release the spores more than likely and then you may need lots of emerald crabs.]

[Its not harmful algae as long as its kept in check, its a macro and its kinda cool...if you or fish pop them though, and thier contents are let explode in the tank....look out, they'll be everywhere. It can spread and take over so do keep an eye out for more.]

[That's all I needed to hear!

I chipped it off the rock tonight and stocked the tank with 2 Emeralds just in case :)

BTW...I purchased the crabs at the new PetORama in Bedford. As far as the fish section goes, it's pretty much Planet Pet again. The 3 big tanks holding coral against the wall have been replaced with 1 tank. The prices were slightly high, but still within retail expectations...hey...they need to make money to stay in business..right?

Last thing I need is yet another plague :)

Thanks everyone!
