I don't know where to post this but anyway I need help.

I have two different hanging systems to use on one 4 ft. light. It has a plastic rectangular housing. I need to attach the hangers to the plastic but also figure out how to hold the reflector in place. Also I need to locate a place for the ballast to go. I can't get my arms above my shoulders hence my request for help physically but also help in the aforementioned design requirements.

Thank you.

I guess this will be a build thread.

Below is a picture of the two tanks that the light will be suspended over. The stand that they are on measures 5' long. The light is 4' long.

My question is: Should I hang the light such that it will start on the left where the end of the metal halide fixture is (leaving 12") or center the light above the metal halide fixture and have 6" short on each end?

The T5 will go on another tank but the metal halide is on the Sea Grass tank and the 4' fixture will be VHO 4x110w.

I can't help physically, but I have a suggestion. Builds a simple wood frame & attach it to the stand and hang your light from that. An up side down u shape should work. Home Dept or Lowes can cut your lumber to size & you'll just need a few screws & hooks. Good luck...Bev

I thought a long time about the suggestion and decided to simplify it by just having a hanging rail on the ceiling. I will post pictures in another thread.

When I hung my light, it did not match where the stunds were at, so I went up inside my attic and installed wood 2x12 inbetween my studs and attatched the light to them. Do you have an attic above the fish tanks?
