Need Help-Got it!!

I just bought a new Emperor 400 and set-up as told. I plugged it in and it spun for about 30 seconds and then stopped. Is my water level too low or is it something else? I know this is kinda a dumb question.

Did you fill the filter up with water before plugging it in?
