need help catching a rogue lobster

So, I didn't do my research and impulsively bought a purple reef lobster. Well, he has turned into quite the little murderer. I have lost 2 yellow watchmen and 2 pj cardinals and a flame angel most recently. I have tried to net him, but he's a quick one and my rock work doesn't really allow for that. Any ideas?

Anyone want the little crazed homicidal lobster?

If I can catch the little dude, you're more than welcome to him, for a small trade or something.

Try a 2 liter home made fish trap for him? You are welcome to some see my 6 tanks and see if something sparks your interest. Most stuff is on grow out but I can spare several different frags I'm sure.

I am going to try it with a gatorade bottle here in a bit, and put a cube of mysis in it. Ill let you know how it goes!

Yeah, I was about to say bait it with some food in a bottle but you may have other things in there that go for the bait. Just get them all out into a tub or something where you can isolate the guy.

So I sat last night with my trap, the lobster is smarter than I gave him credit. He is fast. I got him in the trap 2 times, when I went to pull the cord to get the trap out, he somehow backed out the opening. I will try again tonight. Any other tips?

Cover the entrance with a net instead of pulling the string? Borrow my Octopus for a couple days?

The 2-liter bottle method has worked for me in the past, but do it like described here:

Orienting the opening this way makes it slightly more difficult for the fish/lobster to get out of.

Good luck!
