Need advice on PC bulbs

Just setup a BioCube 14g and the coral I moved over looks bad under the lights. My bright pinks changed to dark reds and my reds to brown... Really don't like it. I know I won't be able to get the same effect as my LEDS but what would be the best bulbs (2) to slap in there?
 
How old are the bulbs? I assume youre using a 10k and an actinic?

That is what I would do is take up titus because the pc heat and bulb change gets old really fast.

I'm off work at 5:00 in Van... Get home to athens around 6:00 get changed and leave for dallas around 6:45 (im ready in 10 mins wife takes 45 LOL) get to dallas around 8:ish... Stay as long as possable talking crap about reefs. Get home past midnight since we would need dinner as well. And wake up at 6:00 the next day to get to work...... Yeah I really want to go... Like REALLY want to go since I've been wanting to build an LED light for a long time now but theres no way guys....


I don't know how old. its 10k and 50/50 combo blue and pink.
 
Anyone have any first hand experiance with these? I don't think I've ever had a PC lighting system before. The corals are still looking good as far as open and size. But the color just depresses me.
 
I hate pc thing of the past bulbs are starting to get a little more rare and have to change every six months. Bulbs run around 20 a piece so in a yr that is 80 you spend 135 or so on a led kit. Led is the way to go

I would switch to a 10k and actinc that is all blue. I have some used bulbs an new ones if you would like them. I would just ask for a couple frags for them. I think the pink is what is killing you also the age of the bulbs. I changed mine out like every 7-9 months.
 
When i had my biocube I ran a 50/50 bulb with an actinic. Also look into the PC-R bulbs, they give out better lighting then conventional PC bulbs... that is if youre not ready for LEDs.
 
This is not a long term tank... I will have a much larger tank setup before MACNA. Then this one will go to my niece and have a clown and shrooms. That's why I don't want to go LED. My next tank will have LEDs but I'm planning on 20-50W single RGB or just RB and White.. maybe some 3Ws mixed in. Who sells PC-R bulbs?
