I have seen 2 kinds of combination HOB filter/skimmers. Has anyone tried these? I am quickly running low on funds and looking for something that will work but not cost too much. Thanks. I have 2 tanks and only one of them has a wet/dry filter, the other one only has the usual HOB.

Need more information tanks size, bio load, skimmers and filter model numbers, ect...

My tank I aquired already equipped but not up to standards. It is a 55 gal with 150# live rock with a regular HOB filter. Only has 2 damsels in it. Not putting anything else in tank until I get it where it needs to be. I already have just set up a 65 Gal with all I need. That being said, I am trying to cut a few corners for now on the 55. Here is a link of a skimmer/filter that I am hoping will work. Please advise me. Thanks.

I would skip filter and get a good skimmer not a combo unit. If you really want I will sell you a marineland filter the big hob also the corallife 125. Both for $75.
