Nano skimmer

Think this will work. Nano skimmers aren't too expensive but just thought that I would try to make one. I have a wood air block at the bottom

It will work. I don't think they are very efficient and the wood air stones get clogged easily. I messed around with them but ended up just getting a Tunze 9002. Without a pump the air stone alone doesn't move a lot of water so not a lot of water is getting skimmed.
 
I have a small in tank skimmer you can have for a frag it uses a small pump and if you use an air pump with it it works ok on small tanks.
 
It appears that my home made skimmer is working because it bubbling protein up to the top. Burbarry, I might want to trade you a frag in the near future just to see if your skimmer works better.
 
Let me know I will try and take a few measurements. I ran it on a 10 gallon tank with a 3 anenomes, 2 clowns, 3 damsels, few crabs, snails and some live rock no sand, for about 6 months no issues at all. I ran it a little more on the wet skim-mate side just because of the high bio load.
