My yellow tail blue damsels spawned

when doing some routine maintance on my take today i noticed one of my yellow tail blue damsels was being very agressive to me. biting me anytime i got near the hole in the rocks that it likes to call home...i found this to be a very unusual thing as it had never done this before. on closer inspection she or he (i am not sure if the male or female of this species broods the young) was darting in and out of the small opening and would fan an area at the top with its fins. i got out a flash light so i could see what was up at the top and there is a mass of was seems to be thousands of eggs. i know the outcome of this will be grim in the long run being in a closed system. but was wanting to share this unusual experence..i have bred freshwater before but have never had marine breed for me. have any of you had any experences like this?
btw. i had no idea that i got a male and a female when i bought these two fish to cycle my tank nearly 2 years ago.

i will try to get some pics tonight to share

Never had Damsels breed for me (Mainly 'cause I had 'em outta my system very early on), but my Clarkii Clowns would spawn every 14 days like clockwork...

Damsels and Clowns are very closely related, and if the fry are anything like Clowns, they're among the easiest to rear. (Still beyond the amount of time/work I'm willing to commit to 'em though, which is why I never raised any)

Oh, and I'm moving this thread to the Marine Fish Keeping forum... :)
