My recovering tank - a picture...

I think that my tank is finally taking a turn for the better. I did the last of the heavy cleaning over the weekend - emptied out the sump/fuge, scrubbed it clean, re-sealed the silicone and filled it back up last night.

So, here's a picture of where we are right now. Just getting past a small diatom outbreak - but some hermits, three conchs and my rabbit fish are making quick work of it.

I'm actually happy to see my tank when I get home from work again! Thanks to so many of you who listened to me whine about it for the past year, gave me advice, donated new frags and chaeto, and one of you who actually came to my house (twice!) while I was on vacation over the summer and did two huge water changes because of a big pH spike.

I am very grateful. :D

Glad things are better finally.

What is to the right of the clam? It is the large area with black stuff. And do I see quite a bit of yellow sponge on the right side of the tank? What is the large fish on the left of the image, turning away from the camera?

Glad to see the obligatory clownfish. :)

That would be the monodactylus that Misty got from me. Poor fish was getting terrorized by the tomato clowns in my tank.

The area of "black stuff" is actually a black sponge - very cool. I've had it 4-5 years now. I don't have any yellow sponge - what you're probably seeing is some of the diatom outbreak that the critters haven't gotten to yet. And the rabbit fish eats it, but then "redistributes" it...if ya know what I mean

And the clowns are "Andy's clowns" - won at the raffle from Faith's meeting three(?) years ago.
