It took a while, but the tank has been ordered. I put up all the details here: http://www.reefaddicts.com/entry.php/728-Stage-One-Complete

I have to say that I'm happy to make a little progress on this project. There is still tons to do, but this was the most important step, because everything else hinges off those tank dimensions.

Mmmmmmmm, new tanks. Looks like I need to start planning a new one as well, I can't have you setting up one so much larger than mine. [smilie=wink.gif]

WTG, Marc! I cannot wait to see the finished product! [smilie=clapping.gif]
[smilie=wait.gif] The question rushes to mind though... [smilie=thinking.gif] Just how much is this bad boy going to weigh?? That and are they putting it in the house or are we??? [smilie=worried.gif]

The next step is to order the metal stand. I hope to do that by Thursday. If I can get that locked in, I'll start demolishing the old fishroom so the foundation can be improved. A new sump will be built once the concrete is in. I'll be pulling the current one out of the fishroom to join the vats in my living room, and put up a temporary wall to keep the texas heat out of my home. The walls in the garage will have to come down, primarily for the concrete work I want to do, and secondarily to get the steel stand into place. It'll be 36" wide and 40" tall - the only way in will be via the garage.

Congratulations on your new tank and can hardly wait to see if finished. I also like the fact that this is going to make Drew crazy and is the start of DFW Tank Wars.

Looks great Marc. I love those dimensions. You'll love the extra width I think. Good thing you waiting till August to begin tearing out walls. [smilie=rofl.gif]

I know, right? [smilie=thinking.gif]

[smilie=clapping.gif] Marc must be a true "Reefer"!! I don't know that I would go to those lengths ( tearing down walls and foundations ) for a re-build. [smilie=clapping.gif] But then again, maybe I would. [smilie=lol.gif]

Will there be a new build log? said:
As I posted in another thread earlier today, I'll be documenting it again. I'm happy to share what I'm doing with my tank, but the bulk of my information will be on Reef Addicts. If you subscribe to my blog over there, you'll get an email notification any time I make an entry. I'd prefer to keep my content on my own site. All my years of writing over on Reef Central, and I got banned. Seems pointless, so I'm going to keep the content on my own sites. Melevsreef will be updated as well, but the day to day stuff will be on R.A.

I know, I know. I'm trying to be good, but all it takes is one click by you and I'm history. [smilie=lipssealed.gif]
