My New Mandarin

I have waited for two years for this beauty...Thanks to Prairie Kat's GB and LiveAquaria he has finally made it to my reef. :D

Meet "Paisley" It took him a few days to get acquainted with everyone and find his way around. He seems to feel right at home and quite the ham for the camera.

Hi Gail!!

GREAT PICS!!

Thank You!!

He is adorable!!

I will eventually get me one too - once I get my new tank set up!!

I have read that is very possible that ur Feather duster will regrow his feathers - How is it doing ?

Kathy

The featherless duster is actually still alive and it's little worm still appears when I feed cyclopseeze, hopefully he will survive.

Thanks again Cathy,

Gail

I have been wanting to try one of these for quite some time, but worry about starvation. I have a 150 gallon with a good 220lbs of live rock, but no fuge. Do you think I might be OK to add one without one?

Tim

Everything I have read states that a refugium is needed to produce the little pods that they eat exclusively.

I read that they will eat frozen mysis and cyclopseeze, but in order to sustain life, they need the live food from an established tank and a refugium is best for pods.

Good luck with one,
Gail

gail

my mandarin eats the orange smelt roe (masago) that they put on sushi...

He looks nice and plump, the way they should be! I've seen some that remind me of anorexic models.

Mark

they like the live pods the most, but I've personally seen them readily eat frozen tube worms, and some will eventually eat frozen mysis.

you can get the stuff at certain asian markets...for sure their is one in carrolton that carries it josey and frankford..

my target only eats pods, my green psychadelic mandarin eats frozen mysis and smelt roe...
