My Hydras came today!!

I am so excited! I finally got my AI lights and got them installed...with alot of arguing and cussing!! Neither one of us is mechanically inclined, and the bad part is I'm 10x more so than Jeff [smilie=wink.gif] I even managed to get them hung from the ceiling with only a little drywall in my eye...

Anyhow, to get to the point... These lights are freaking AMAZING!! I only had them on for a short period before they went to moon light but the color and shimmer blew my mind. My tank looked completely different. I have a 48x30x18 and two lights is plenty to cover the tank.

I can't wait to see how the corals respond. The wireless controller is really cool, everything is changed to icons now. The lights are really well made and I'm quite impressed. The directions aren't the best since they are still written for the SOL or VEGA and you have to figure out which applies. And if you have to update the firmware on a MAC, DO NOT use the video off AI's site. They make it 1000x harder than it really is. If anyone needs to know, just PM me and I'll be glad to walk you through.

I'm please, Christmas came early for me this year!!
 
I am SO pleased! The picture is at only 50% and the new controller firmware has a cool coral acclimation program that I set to acclimate over the next month.
 
Why so purple in the pics? Does it look that purple in person? I have 5 coming. By the way thanks for the tunze 6095.

Mrb, not quite that purple in person but they def have a more purple cast to them. Some of the blues were replaced with purple. You are welcome too :0)
 
Awesome! Did you get a Director for beta testing or are you running the regular controller? They did replace some blues and add UV and Violet as standard colors to the Hydra as well as incorporate the new style lenses with diffusers.
